Health Record Transfer Fees

Yes..! if you are in Canada.. or rather in my small town .. and your doctor leaves.. you have to pay to get your health record transfer.  YES..!!! HOW RIDICULOUS IS THAT RIGHT..?? so say .. you have 5 children.. with the same doctor.. and each time.. a doctor leaves.. no fault of yours.. you are expected to fork out .. $25 a piece for the photocopying.. of your health history to be sent to the new doctor’s office.  So every few years or so.. you have to pay like $125 .. for nothing at all.  Just things that actually already belonging to you.

Burning When Peeing

So Missy Moo complained since yesterday that she felt like it was burning when she peed - like any anxious parents.. we called our family doctor to be told that since it is his last week in town - he is moving away for good, we can only take a urine sample and have the lab test it.   So we did and here i go thinking.. so i pick up the bottle tomorrow.. and then take the pee the next day, since the lab is closed by 11.30am.. and then i have to wait for the next day before i get some medication from the doctor for Missy Moo.  I wonder if i need to get some cigars online the next time i have a new doctor, so that Missy Moo don’t have to suffer this long before getting medication.

One have to take off my hats to the doctor and his secretary.  Why? one donch have kids.. and the other must be thinking.. not my kid what..  ! if you want.. bring her to the emergency room.  But with the H1N1 thing going around.. you think i wanna bring my kid there..??  *sigh* ..  you know.. for our family doctor and the secretary.. they sure don’t show a lot of compassion at all.  One can only say.. no lost for me.. and Missy Moo.  I’m totally aghast and should have known better.. afterall, the secretary asked me .. to look for Dr Google.. when my hemoglobin was so low.. and i needed to know..  what i should do.. or eat..  to keep me from dying a year and a half ago.

H1N1 Vaccine Only To Risk Group In Canada

With office furniture all set up and ready to go even before the opening.. you would think that they came prepared to vacinate those that wants the needles right..?  But the town was disappointed.. and more than 1000 were there and 900 were the only ones that got vaccinated.  And now they are saying that they are only giving out needles to risk group. How can they be so wrong with their estimation..?? Only the first day..and they are already changing the rules here. Had we known.. that they were gonna be short of supplies.. we would have lined up .. even before 7am.. to get it done. Now they announced that the  H1N1 flu vaccine is in short supply for the next few weeks and that until further notice.  JOY!  This is afterall Y.A.R.M.O.U.T.H eh..??

Not Psychic

Missy Moo had hives yesterday and since it was a holiday, we ran into the emergency room because Benadryl didn’t help.  Today, her tongue swelled up at 4.30pm.. and we called the family doctor immediately.  In which the secretary replied that had we called in the morning .. she could have fit us in.  He was seeing his last patient and cannot wait for us for 10 mins.  That was really helpful !  NOT !  If we were psychic, well, you can see us making the appt in the morning.. but since we are not we could not predict she was gonna be ill at 4.30pm.

So we ended up in the emergency room again.. and waited for 3 hrs.. while Missy Moo suffered.  Firstly, ppl who have no kids.. do not understand the anxiety .. we have to go thru’ when a child is ill.  Surely, OUR family doctor can wait for us for 10mins.. instead of making a 5.5yrs old suffer the way my kid did..??  Pissed..??  and understatement ..!!  and if i ever leave this country.. i’ve said this many times.. and i’m saying it again..  it’s the medical system here.. the lack of doctors.  If we were home.. this would never have happened.

Blood Sugar

So it had been a week and a day since i started on my medication and looking out with my diet. I am currently trying a lot of new things.. like low fat cheese .. and walnut .. plus oats and cinnamon.  Anything that is said to help to lower the blood sugar.. i was gonna try it but of course, with different combination.  Obviously, it is not easy.. because there are just things.. that i wanna eat .. just because i can’t eat it now.  My blood pressure seems to have come down.. after eating those pills regularly.. so i have to keep reminding myself.. that the blood sugar pills needed time to take effect.  I am trying not to stress myself too much.. and even bought some relaxing candle to help ease my tension.   This morning.. it just dawn upon me that i should eat smaller portions.. but fairly regularly .. 2 - 3 hrs.. that way.. my blood sugar can stay steady.   So i’m not gonna worry about eating enough.. to last me for more than 4hrs.. i’m just gonna eat smaller portion.. and snack all day..  a piece of cheese.. and some walnuts.. here and there.  Rye bread seems to be the way to go.. and vegies are good despite the fact that they make me feel bloated.   I write more on my experience as I come across them.

Stress At Work

For the last few months, we have been dealing with petty theft and things sold to us classified as “break and enter” .. which of course, we would not have any knowledge of .. in the first place.  But having said that all these time spent on trying to resolve them.. and talking to the cop.. and spending time talking to these ppl who got broken into .. is very stressful for me.  Maybe, I should go look for some sales manager jobs and not help the man with his store.  Less stress.. and less worry about all those money lost while we try so hard to be thrifty.

Missy Moo Is Sick !

Missy Moo is sick again..!! she barely got over the last cold and diarrhea.. and another cold again.  No fever, not much coughing.. so we figured we didn’t need to rush in to see the family doctor, afterall, I doubt we will get in to see him immediately.  Yes, don’t even get me started on the wait time to see the doctor.  Back home, if you are sick, you get to see your doctor immediately, here.. you better make an appt to see God instead.  So anyhow, this time I am smart too.. i didn’t send Missy Moo to school nor am I gonna to tomorrow.. because I rather not stress her out .. like the last time.. by making her go to school.. and she got all stressed up.. and got a tummy bug instead.  I think it was nerve.. to be honest… coupled with a few things that happened in school. Nothing is more important.. than to make sure she feels good.. before going back not even buying the much needed office furniture that we had planned to go looked at this afternoon.

The Joys Of Emergency Rooms

For those who knows me.. you would know that I had traveled the world for business and vacations and had many times been into the emergency rooms of various hospital.. in different countries.  In most countries that I had been too.. i’ll have to say .. that they take care of the children first.. and then the old folks.. and of course the rest later.

I do like the nurses .. and doctors of this hospital.. but something is wrong .. when you let a sick kid sit for 6 hours.. before getting to see the doctor.  Obviously, my kid is sick.. else you think we wanna spend a Sunday in the hospital..??   6hrs .. for a kid who is not even 5 yrs old yet.. to wait for the doctor is pure sin.   But of course, having said that.. i know they had some emergency.. and only 1 doctor running the whole hospital so they said.  Which in my humble opinion is not right.  Plus, the doctor could definitely take a look at my kid .. and let us go.. afterall.. he took but 5 mins..!!!

This was how sick my kid was.. we waited inside the waiting room for another hour.. after we were called in.. before the doctor saw us.. and sent us home without any medication.  I don’t think this is right.. that Yarmouth Regional Hospital had only one emergency doctor running the whole hospital.

If i ever return home .. and never come back to Canada.. this health department is definitely gonna be the main reason .. why i am leaving.  I cannot bear to see my kid suffer this many hours.. and can only get to see the doctor .. after 12 hrs.  There were but 6 patients ahead of us.. and i really think that it was wrong.  There were so many nurses.. and all they were doing were sitting around and chatting.  When we were in the emergency room.. it wasn’t even busy.  I’m mad..??  yes .. for sure.. !! as an adult.. it’s ok.. to wait this long.. but this is my kid you are talking about.  This is wrong..!

I Still Have Fear 4 Months After My Hysterectomy

On Tuesday nite.. Wednesday morning.. Missy Moo was ill .. and my stomach was not feeling too well.  Already uneasy .. in the early evening .. i decided to go to bed  early .. but i had to wake up at 12.30am.. because i felt like throwing up again.

Didn’t get to throw up.. but had to poop.. which i did.. and went back to bed .. to rest.. after.  But i had that same kind of cold sweat.. and didn’t take me long.. before i had to wake up again to poop.  Boy..!! was i darn frightened man..!! because 4 months ago.. after my hysterectomy.. this was what happened.  With Missy Moo sick and all.. how would you feel as a mother.. to think that you might have to drag her out of bed.. because you needed to go to the hospital again.

It turned out.. it wasn’t the same thing.. i didn’t need to go to the hospital.. but on that nite or wee hours in the morning.. i cannot helped but felt extreme fear.  At times like this.. i wished i was home.. in Singapore.. and also at times like this… i sure wished .. i had my own family and friends to call upon for help.

But for those who might be thinking that i was over paranoid.. yer absolultey right man..!!! but can you blame me .. after all that i had gone thru’.. ?? I know for sure.. that had i been back home.. the fibroids would have had been taken out .. a long, long time ago.

No Shower For 1.5 Months

I kid you not..!! after my 2nd operation .. i didn’t have a shower for 1.5 months..! you wonder how i can take it right..?  well.. i was quite the desperate to get that laparoscopic surgery hole to close .. so i would have eaten Monkey’s brain again. .if i had to.  Luckily, i didn’t get any acne at all on my body. I knew my face was safe.. coz’ i do clean my face everyday right.. and washed my hair over the sink. .every other day.  But no shower was hard.. ! i don’t know how some people don’t like to shower. .it was killing me.  What about you ..?? can you do without a shower..??

Wonderful Doctor..??

Was at the doctor’s a few weeks ago.. because the wound didn’t seems like healing properly.  Although it wasn’t oozing .. or having some foul smell.. i thought it would be best to go see him.. since i was developing a rash..which Mr Moo thinks it was from the anti-biotics.

Anyhow.. i started on another type of anti-biotic.. because the family doctor had taken a swap sample of the wound..the very first time i saw him.. and the culture results had come back.. so he was giving me the “right” type of anti-biotic again.  No sticker shock this time for the medication.. but he said something about us making “lots” of money.. so shouldn’t mind spending money on medication.. *slap forehead*.

Yes.. we do make quite abit of money.. but i want my money to go to Missy Moo’s future and education.. and her traveling around the world.. and of course our future.. and not spend .. 100s of dollars just on medication right..?? *shrug* .. but how lah.. to explain to the doctor.. when he would only see his patient.. one case at a time..??  C’est la vie… ??

Infection .. JOY.. !!

I went to see my family doctor.. because one of the laporoscopic surgery wound wasn’t healing .. and was still oozing .. and i didn’t feel it was a good sign.  Finally, we got in to see him.. instead of Dr Murphy .. because Dr Murphy’s office was closed to August.

Well .. according to my family doctor.. i have an infection.  My heart dropped right into my stomach..!  i didn’t know what else will go wrong now.  The other two wounds healed perfectly.. but not this one.  Bummer..!! Anyways.. i am now currently on anti-biotics.. and lets hope.. it would heal.. and we’ll see..! *sigh*.. !! i just donch want anymore complications please..!!!

High Blood & Town

Everytime.. i start talking about the town.. or the town councils.. it makes my blood pressure high .. and i kid you not. It is so visible.. that i am really irritated.. with the whole town .. and how they are managing it. So if i was going to the doctor’s .. i must not think of the town councils.. nor this town.. then my blood pressure would be good. Funny..?? very..!!

Freaking Expensive Medication

My family doctor gave me a prescription of Cyklokapron .. so that when my menses comes .. it would not have such heavy flow.  Happily i sent Mr Moo to the pharmacy .. for it.. because my menses is just about round the corner.. and since i just had my transfusion.. i didn’t wanna lose any more blood than i can helped it.  When Mr Moo came back with the 30 tablets.. i had a “sticker” shocked..!! guess how much the 30 tablets cost..??  $60 ..!!!  holy mowly..!!   Not fun getting sick eh..!!

Health Care Is Such A Joy - NOT !

Talking to my family’s doctor receptionist is such a joy .. NOT..! I told her to ask the doctor about medication for either my diabetes or my headache.. and her advice to me.. is to get an over the counter medication. If the OTC medication worked.. need i asked the doctor..?? First she asked me to google about my iron supplement.. and now .. she wants me to get an over the counter medication. You don’t know how frustrated i am with her.

A Good Night Sleep

I’ve seen people using ostrich feathers for wedding decoration for their center pieces on the banquet tables.  But I’ve also heard my grandmother mentioning using it for stuffing in the pillows to get one a good night sleep.  I don’t know if it is true or not but i think i would try it because a good night sleep is very important to all of us.

Remedy To Stop Itchy Feet - Diabetes Solution

Ever since I found out that I had diabetes.. under my feet on the left feet only.. i get tiny water bumps.. and it gets so itchy.. i had to scratch it till it bleeds.  Well.. that’s until.. i found a trick to it.. but it still irks the hell outta me.. when it itches.  No amount of scratching seems to stop the itch.. till i use boiling water.. and with a cloth.. and burned the hell outta the itch.  So if you have this problem.. you can try the burning the itch with boiling water..! i tell ya.. it’s the best thing ever.. and the itch stops.

Severe Anaemic

I went for my blood test for my diabetes.. and little did i know.. that i need a blood transfusion. I found out about it.. on Monday .. and i wasn’t sure what to think. Severe Anaemic with a haemoglobin’s count of 58, it was way below normal..according to my family doctor.

So when doctors think that fat ppl cannot be anemic.. they are so wrong.. because I am far from being skinny.. not fat fat either.. but you know what I mean. I’ll tell you about my transfusion on my next entry.

Agitation = Blood Sugar High…??

I feel very agitated tonite.. ! i wonder if it has anything to do with my blood sugar being higher than usual.  I have yet to get  my blood test done.. so i’m not on any medication.  Fasting doesn’t seems to be a huge problem for me.. so tomorrow.. i’m gonna have to time my eating properly .. so that I can fast for 12 hrs.. and get the blood test done. Wis me luck!

I Can’t Fast !

I was supposed to fast for my blood test tomorrow.. and guess what..?? i can’t fast..!! at 2am.. i was so hungry.. i had to eat something.. !! and now i can’t do my blood test..!! what a bummer..! but it’s good in a way.. coz’ i saw that the doc had actually ordered a urine test too.. and i won’t be able to do it.. because i am still having my menses.  Wasted..!! fasting for 6 hrs.. and broke down..! gotta plan proper..!  Trying on Sunday again..! anyone got fasting problems..??
