Tummy Update

So I wrote about my tummy hurting the other day – and it stopped after i took one tylenol.  The next day I was helping a friend get her bridesmaid gifts  and was quite worried that it might hurt again during shopping but I was good the whole day.   The last nite – it started again – and i didn’t wait till it hurt a lot .. and took the tylenol right away.  This morning it didn’t hurt.. but i had a very late breakfast and of course right after breakfast it started again.  I’m leaning on it being wind that is hurting my tummy – but can wind really do that much hurting.  I’m gonna be monitoring really closely to make sure that nothing worst comes on – and if it persist.. i’m gonna go see the family doctor  – but wait..  should i see a gynae instead…??  hmmm..  we’ll see and i’ll update you all on it.

Not Impressed With Doctor’s Office

So yes! we’ve gotten ourselves new doctors.. after the old one left.  I was scheduled yesterday for an appt but was 10mins late because of the snow.  Upon arrival, they told me, they had to reschedule, yes.. WHAT THE HELL …! RIGHT..??  never mind.. i was patient. .afterall, having a doctor is  better than not having any right..??  so she looked at her computer .. and did some barcode scanner and scheduled me for Wednesday.

Today, the clinic called and said they had urgent cases to see .. and had to reschedule me..??? !!!???  WTH right..??  i mean i was 10 mins late.. and you had to reschedule me.. but they can anyhow reschedule me..  and that’s alright..??  So mine is not urgent.. so can anyhow move my schedule and appt..??  my time isn’t time. .but yours is..??  Not impressed at all..!!

I guess i cannot really expect really much from the doctors .. or the clinics here.. there is just no justification in what they do.. and they don’t have to justify .. because they must think they are GODS..!!

Not Serious About My Health

My old doctor who left late last month – accused me of not being serious of my healthy… because i keep missing my appt and didn’t do my blood test.  He seems to forget i have an online job, a store and also a kid – he forgets i don’t have a filipino maid.. or a pakistani one nor do i have a house husband .. like has has a housewife .

Yes.. blunt and without good bedside manners were some of the comments and views of his ex-patients who also happens to be our customers.  It’s bad to criticize your patient .. without even considering their feelings whatsoever.  And for someone who a year and a half ago.. didn’t wanna give me my diabetic medication .. and now doing it in full force .. *shake head* – no lost to the ppl in my small town – as far as we are concerned.

PS :  Does any doctor in the right frame of mind thinks that anyone wouldn’t be serious about their health?  only the really dumb ones.. or the ones with I DONCH CARE attitude would think that way.

Referrals From Doctors

Yes, we all know the town I lived in a kinda silly town where everything is managed badly or backwards.  The friend’s mother needed to see a gynae .. but because she doesn’t have a family doctor, she was asked to sit at the emergency outpatient to get a referral.  We all know that there are no design furniture or any comfy ones to sit for like 6 hrs at times .. and this old lady who doesn’t speak a word of english is supposed to be there on her own..?? so who can accompany her..??  Where i come from.. if you need a gynae.. you just make an appt with the gynae.. and no such nonsense.  And even though i had explained the situation to the daughter-in-law’s family doctor.. he still wouldn’t give her a darn piece of paper for a referral.  What is wrong with these doctors..???  one has gotta wonder .. seriously..!

H1N1 & School

It’s bad enough that ppl who has the flu, cold or even the H1N1 come into our store.. without a nary of apology for being out in the public.. and spreading their germs.  If the kids don’t know any thing, it is up to you as a parent.. to keep them away from healthy kids. .and healthy folks.  You can imagine me getting  dark eye circle from worrying about it.. and worrying about sending my kid to school.

A kid from Missy Moo’s class was said to have H1N1 .. a few days ago.. but today i read on her FB.. that she is sending him back to school on Monday.. because he was bored.  *slap forehead* .. so to send Missy Moo to school or not..?? Really at a dilemma because if I don’t send her.. she would be bored at the store.. but if i send her.. i’m exposing her to all sorts of germs.  Tough being a mother eh. … and for those whose children has H1N1 .. DON’T SEND YOUR KIDS TO SCHOOL..  NO MATTER HOW BAD YOU ARE FEELING YOURSELF..!

Dentist Oh Dentist !

You know.. i have mixed feelings.. when I heard dentist from home was retiring …  but this morning.. i had to re-schedule an appt with him at his office.. and i think i cannot wait for him to leave now .. not because i don’t like him.. but because i do not like to deal with his office.

When you work in the line where you deal with people who are sick or not feeling well, be it a dentist, a psychiatrist or even a vet it is important.. that you are nice and compassionate.   The feeling i get from  this dentist office is cold, i fly all the way out to see him and it’s  just cold ..  not only n bad hair days.. but always.  So yes..  i really cannot wait for him to go.. and never have to deal with his office again.   In the event, if some of the staff he moved into the our new dentist  office.. i would do my darnedest to change dentist.  I really do not wanna deal with his old staff no more, afterall, it’s a long way home eh.

Birthing Experiences

I just helped a good friend .. with having her baby 2 days ago.  I promised i was gonna be there for her.. and am glad that I did.  The birthing experience was great..  and the nurses were wonderful.. but once you  have the baby.. the other side of the maternity ward.. is a totally different story altogether.   I seriously think that the hospital need some kinda video surveillance equipment to watch and see what the nurses at the other end are doing.. coz’ they ain’t doing much.. unless absolutely  necessary.  It certainly hasn’t changed a wee bit.. from the time i had my daughter.. some 6 yrs ago.  They wouldn’t help me.. unless there was someone there to fight for us.. that was the real reason why i wanted to be with my good friend.. when she had her baby. So if you are having a baby .. make sure you have a support system with  you in the hospital.

Mosquitoe Bites Allergy

Yes.. it looks like i’m allergic to the mosquitoes here.  I didn’t even think a lot about it.. and when i got home, it started swelling a bit and by the evening .. it was huge..!! it lasted for 2 days.. and then i decided.. i had enough.. because i couldn’t hold my bowl to eat.  Luckily for me, the g/f who was moving away had some long distance moving companies to help her pack, else I would be no use to her at all.  A check with our family doctor, he said not to use the cream that I had used – an antibiotic cream but to take Claritine instead or Benadryl.  Oh well, it worked.. and that’s all i cared then.

ENT Specialist

So Missy Moo saw her family doctor with swollen tonsils and she didn’t sleep well for 3 nites in total.  As expected..  he wasn’t gonna give her any medication – surprise !! surprise..!!  NOT! He wants her to see an ENT Specialist and guess what..?? the one and only that we have here in Y-town  – is said to be meant.. and very busy.  They called today.. and Missy Moo’s appt is in NOVEMBER!!!!!  yes .. NOVEMBER..!!!!  crazy or what..??  no medication.. !!! and now the ENT doc only available 3 months from now.  So my kid gotta suffer lah..??  Wait .. let me get some Naot sandals and run home .. i think that would be faster.. !! and i’m talking about running home to Asia..!!!

Skincare

I want to get the best skincare and wouldn’t mind paying for it.  So i found out that i had blackheads and can’t wait to get to an esthetician .. to get rid of it.. without damaging my face.  I came out $72 poorer .. but i still see lots of blackheads on my face.  Disappointed but what can you do.  I know that back home .. my esthetician never leaves anything behind in my skin.. when i walk out of the door.. but here.. *sigh*… what can i say right.  Not gonna waste my money over that place no more.  I can do a better job .. i believe.

Blood Test

I am to take my blood test like 10 days ago.. and i’ve yet to go..  not because I am afraid of needles.. but because i CAN’T FAST..!!!!!  yes.. !!! it’s hard for me.. since i’m diabetic.. and i sleep late at nite..  so to fast for at least 12 hrs.. i have to time everything properly.

But I’ll have to do it soon.. coz’ i have an appt with the family doctor next week.  So fasting it is for me tonite.. and while i’m fasting.. i should help my girlfriend do the  baby announcements invitation to take my mind off food.  Doing something useful.. instead of just thinking of the yummy chicken curry i have in my fridge.

No Doctor Again..??

The rumor has it .. that the family doctor will be leaving at the end of the month for Quebec.  Well.. you see i just saw the family doctor like a few days ago.. and he made no mentioned of it.  But today.. 2 person already came in to talk about it.  So Mr Moo called and asked the secretary if it was true – the secretary confirmed that it wasn’t .. and she had been hearing this rumor since a year ago.  So it was good.. and kinda a relieve .. for me anyways.. because Missy Moo was just starting to love her family doctor.. and has no fear .. in visiting him.

Family Doctors

I met my family doctor and his family at the mall the other day.  He made not attempt to make small talk with me even though i got Missy Moo to great him.  His daughter.. was too shy to say anything.. and he never introduced us.  A little further strolling.. we met him and his entire family .. and this time.. he never even look up .. lol.

My family doctors back home.. we are promptly introduced and they know my entire family too.  When one is getting married.. we also bring our spouses to see our family doctor.. so that he can give us some advice.  It kinda make me pretty sad.. realizing.. the differences.. not only in culture.. food and everything else .. i kinda miss home even more.  My family doctor – one of them.. actually watched me grow up .. and when i was living in Singapore. i would visit him at least once a year.  Dr Wong, I miss you so much.

Don’t Even Go There With Me

i don’t understand why the ppl here would think that i am completely healed after 2 major operations barely a year over.  I had my operation in June 28 last year.. and another emergency one in July 2.  It had been 11 months at the most.. and everyone here feels that i should be hunky dory about it.. and can now walk the Great Wall of China.. and climb the Himalayas Mountain.  And if i said.. i was still in pain on days.. bad days.. they go like “oh well!”

But my friends from home.. they always tell me to be careful and not overwork .. because i’m not completely heal.  So what is the difference between the ppl here .. and my friends back home..?? *sigh* Well, i can’t say all .. expect the same thing.. but it’s irritating.. donch you think..?? to be asked this question over and over again.  Oh My God..!!! just leave me alone.. if you got nothing nice to say.. or suggest.

Stress At Work

For the last few months, we have been dealing with petty theft and things sold to us classified as “break and enter” .. which of course, we would not have any knowledge of .. in the first place.  But having said that all these time spent on trying to resolve them.. and talking to the cop.. and spending time talking to these ppl who got broken into .. is very stressful for me.  Maybe, I should go look for some sales manager jobs and not help the man with his store.  Less stress.. and less worry about all those money lost while we try so hard to be thrifty.

A Month After Pap Smear

A month ago, i went for my pap smear.. and i have yet to get my results.  Yesterday, a good friend/customer who works with the hospital told me. .that i can expect it back after 3 months.  So i thought about it.. and wonder what does one do.. let say.. if i had STD..??  or some kinda disease ..???  wait till i rot..???  oh well.. what can i say about the good hospital here eh..??  even membership card wouldn’t get me any nearer to getting my results sooner..i was told.

Pot Heads

I swear i’ve never seen so many pot heads and drug addicts in any town than this one.  People come into our store. . and selling stuff. . one hand holding their kid.. and on the other.. smelling like weed.  And then can tell me that they are turning their life around.. *slap forehead” because of their kids.  I sometimes wonder if they think i am stupid or what..??  i can smell them from a mile away… and they give me such a bad headache.. that’s the reason why i recognise it.

I bet if i can smell them. .so can the cops.  But the law here.. is consumption may not be a big offence. .unless you are trafficking it.  So ppl get away with it so often.. you wouldn’t even believe it.. now want me to go into it.  I hear a very reputable family in town.. being caught with an amount so huge. .that they can’t even hide behind own consumption.. but nothing is done about it.  *sigh*.

Blood Test For Diabetes

i am due for a blood test for my blood sugar .. but i had been so busy at work.. and my online work.. it is tough to tear away .. and get it done.  Then of course, the babysitter got sick for the week.. so everything went topsy turvy.  I also realised that i might have been depending on the sitter too much.  Anyhow.. i better get my act together. .and get my blood sugar tested really soon.

Nova Scotia Family Pharmacare Program

Nova Scotia Family Pharmacare Program  is for those who needs help with paying for their prescription and are of lower income.  No you need not be on welfare or any disability, although i guess if you are .. you should automatically be in this program..??  Well, as far as I have been in Canada, I know that there are people who are abusing this system.  Knowing that they can afford to pay $150 to do their hair or to go for a huge feast everytime they get their checks, makes me wanna puke.  But yes, these people are on some kinda of program that allows them to pay nothing for medication and dental care.  Lucky them you would think – so for those who are working part time or not earning alot, you too can apply for it and save the application on a flash drive if you can’t print the forms out in the office.

Update On Spotting After 8 Months Hysterectomy

It has been a week since i last wrote.. an update on me spotting after 8 months into recovery of my full hysterectomy.  You will be pleased to know that although i still get pain every other day..  it’s bearable… and no more spotting.  Thank God..!!!  I’m awaiting to see my gynae.. on next Tuesday.. i shall update more .. when i’m done seeing him…  but I will suggest for an ultra scan just because of the constant pain.
