Heavy Period

For years – i have been plague by heavy period and long days like 2 weeks a month with bleeding.  The bleeding can sometimes be so bad – that clots of blood can be passed thru’ urination and i had endured it for so long because i didn’t want to leave Missy Moo alone.  You see – we don’t have anyone to look after her when she was younger and Mr Moo had his work to take care of and cannot be looking after Missy Moo full time.

But little did i know that my hemogoblin was so low – i could have died.  Now if you were like me, don’t wait ! i regretted waiting because it is now taking a lot longer to heal. You don’t have to accept the limits heavy periods can put on your lifestyle.  I hear there is a minimal invasive treatment for heavy period if you don’t have a huge fibroid like myself.  A 8 mins procedure and it can be performed in the doctor’s office   So check with your doctors about it.

Pap Smear

I know..! i know..! everyone hates the pap smear test and so do i but once it is done, it is definitely a relieve.  I had mine done last Tuesday .. more than a week ago .. and no results yet.  But the gynae had said it might take longer.. coz’ it had been crazy busy at the lab lately.  Oh well.. ! guess no news is good news..?? but  me .. being the paranoid person.. you can understand i won’t rest at east .. till i hear back from them.. and get a clearing.  And then i need to go do my blood sugar test soon.  Arrghhhh..!!!

Sex & Hysterectomy

Every now and then.. i get ppl telling me that after your hysterectomy.. you will feel so good.. and that one would jump right back.. and have sex like you never had before… hahhahhahaha!! Ya .. right..!!!  anyone telling you something like that.. they are either .. trying to kid you ..or trying to kid themselves.

I think the part where sex like you never had before.. is prolly due to the fact that you don’t have to worry about getting pregnant again.. and that the man don’t have to use the condom.  i guess some men don’t like it..  and some women they don’t like it either.  Well.. don’t get me wrong.. i’m not turning this blog into a sex discussion place.  But I wanted to share some insight about what is going on with my hysterectomy and the after op scenario.

There is no right and wrong time to have sex .. after your hysterectomy.. i would think.  It would all depend on yourself..and how comfortable you are.  Some ppl like me experienced more pain than others.. while others who have had their ovaries taken out are still having hot flushes.. and feeling sweaty all the time.  While others may have spinal pain.. and the rest goes on.

No one can tell you .. what you feel.. you know it yourself.  But i can assure you .. there will be no .. horny bunnies around.. for a long time.. because like myself.. it’s awfully uncomfy.. the stabbing pain comes on and off.. and during this weekend.. i found a constant dull pain on the side of my stomach.. and that wasn’t even near any of my operation scars.. or my laporascopic.

So yes.. sex after hysterectomy.. will come.. i’m sure.. but take it easy.. and you should always listen to your body.. to tell you if you are ready.  It’s exactly like when you just had your baby.. and women practice some common sense eh.

A Common Fact Of Hysterectomy

I had been asked many a times.. after my hysterectomy .. if my menses started again or not… because my ovaries are intact.  But the fact is.. i was a wee bit shocked.. that people would assumed.. that after a hysterectomy .. you can still have menses.  Well.. the truth and fact is this.. nope.. i never had my menses again.. because the whole uterus had been taken out.  I often wonder too.. about the ovaries.. and the egg producing thingie .. since my ovaries are intact.  But i’ve yet to see my new gynaecologist..  but i would definitely ask him.. if i see him next.  Dr Mukhajee who did my hysterectomy .. left for Toronto .. for a better position.. and since he is a very ambitious .. and knowledgeable surgeon/specialist in this area.. i certainly don’t blame him for wanting to leave this small town. Well.. so now you have it.. after my Hysterectomy.. NO MENSES.. BABE..!!!  No more pads.. no more tampoons.. muahahhhaa!!

Quick Update

I’m currently having my menses .. and my operation is scheduled for monday.  Bleeding really bad.. and the medication given by the family doctor does not seems to be helping at all.  I hope my hemoglobin wouldn’t go down . .during this time.

The man still cannot handle more than the ordinary.. so i still have to help around the house alot.  So i’m pretty worried.. what will happen.. when I am in the hospital.. orif i donch survived. *sigh*

Am I Menopausing?

With my menses being so erratic, I’ve often wonder if I am menopausing..?? afterall, I am already 43. And if i remembered correctly, my mother started menopause young too. A check on some medical journal, tells me that some women continue to menstruate normally until the onset of menopause and then simply cease to have periods. But i remembered in my mother’s case .. it wasn’t the case. A woman going through menopause can expect to see a variety of changes.

Reality: Libido, or sexual desire, does decline with aging, but many women continue to enjoy a satisfying sex life deep into old age. Some women find sex more enjoyable after menopause when concerns about pregnancy are past.

That Time of The Month Again

Yes.. and it’s earlier than last month.. but better this week than next.. since Missy Moo needs to do a major thing with her teeth next week.. and i wanna be 100% there for her.. and not be a burden to Mr Moo. So bring it on.. Menses..!!

Clots Of Blood

After more than 10 days of menses, I was kinda shocked to see a clot of blood this morning.. while getting ready for work. I let out a scream.. because it was all over my hands.. when i was cleaning up. Just a clot.. and nothing else.. isn’t that strange or what..?? I really don’t think it can be healthy.. to be having strange menses like I do.. better do some research on it.

Update:  At 11.11pm tonite.. there was a big clot of blood that came out while i was sitting down.  My tummy had started hurting abit .. at 8pm. .and now at 1.10am.. the pain is stabbing but bearable.
