Hysterectomy Annivesary

So i received a email from Hyster-Sister reminding me that my anniversary for my hysterectomy is tomorrow.  Wow!! has it been 2 yrs already.. ?? since i had my hysterectomy..??  Time sure flew – and yes – they asked if i am in better health.

Well, for the most part i am – i still do get pain every now and then.. and numbness – but like all of you know a year after i had my hysterectomy – i found out that i was a diabetic and had to be on insulin – which i protested and am now on medication daily and in control now.

After my hysterectomy – i lost some weight.. but because of my diabetes – i put on some too – so it’s back to the norm.  Till today – my tummy still feels sore – i cannot bend over for a long time nor can i do strenuous exercises.  Sometimes, i feel a lump of pain on my side tummy – due to wind – but overall, i can’t complained – i’m alive.

Did my hysterectomy make my sex life better?  i don’t think so – my tummy is in some kind of discomfort in one way or another – so nope it hasn’t been better – but at least i’m not losing no more blood.  So i take comfort in that.  I do look forward to a healthier life of course – but these days – i find that i am quite stress up because i want to do a lot but can’t – so i’m still finding my way to a healthier liftstyle.  I think going home is the best but that may not be so possible at this time.

Another Doctor With The Same Question

So I went to see the family doctor a few weeks ago – because  of my blood test – and this time – they had a new doctor – so they had to get to know me all over again.  I really don’t mind to be honest – just grateful we have a family doctor – and i get asked all over again for the same questions – but that’s ok too.  But one question that irks me a lot is they asked when is the last time i had my menses or if i am still bleeding normally even though i told them i had a full hysterectomy?????!!!!???  *roll eyes*  now what gives..???  should the doctors know that one don’t bleed no more after a full hysterectomy..???  Mannnn!!! how irritating is that..!!!  Is there a way a woman can still menstruate after having a full hysterectomy..??

Hurting Side Tummy

As you all know I went thru’ a huge operation almost 2 yrs ago – for my hysterectomy and also to remove my fibroid which was the size of a baby – about 3kg.  I’ve always been careful and monitoring my tummy situation closely but the last few days – my tummy had been hurting a little at a time.  But today it was so bad – i had to take tylenol to see if it would ease the pain.  I know that i’ve put on weight recently and should be using some  fat loss supplements but i’m stubborn and want to do it on my own.  But i’ve been feeling right clumsy of late and even feel that squatting down or picking up things are quite tedious – but anyone coming back to my tummy hurting – i don’t know what to make outta it – it’s like i’ve torn something inside – in the meantime – i’m gonna see if it would go away like my numbing left hand.   But that would be a story for another day.

Pap Smear After Hysterectomy

I went to visit my family doctor about my blood sugar the other day.. and we had started talking about my other health issues.. and what i had been doing to make sure i live a good long life. I had also mentioned about my pap smear.. with the new gynae.. and my family doctor then told me i didn’t need a pap smear no more.  I was kinda shocked.. because no one told me that..  and neither did my new gynae.  Then I was told that I didn’t need one.. if i had my cervic removed.. but i donch really know if my cervic was removed.. because i know the old gynae removed my uterus.. and left my ovaries.. so did he take the cervic as well..??  Well, i guess i’ll have to write to my old gynae or call my new one eh.  More on it.. when i find out.

One Year Anniversary Of Hysterectomy

So it was my 1 yr anniversary of my hysterectomy as few days ago.  It was as uneventful as it gets.  So how am i feeling..??  Pretty good in fact.. but some pain on the abdomen still when i do exercises.. so i still have to take it easy.  I can pretty much do anything.. and can lift my 40lbs daughter up.. but not for too long. Obviously, i feel a lot better than i did.. when i had my fibroids.. and cannot imagine.. how i could have managed to wait for this long .. to take them out.  I guess a mother’s love is really great.. and because of Missy Moo.. i bear with it.. as long as i could, without even knowing that my hemoglobin was so low.. that i could have died – now that wouldn’t be good.

Never Thought I Would Bend Over Again

Yes.. after my hysterectomy a year ago.. i never thought i would be able to bend over . .and put lotion on my feet.  Hell..!! i can’t even go to bed.. without feeling pain for like 6 months.  But today.. i was able to bend over.. and reach my feet.. and put lotion on it.  It’s not quite a year yet.. but i’m getting there.. slowly but surely.  I know some of you .. who just had your hysterectomy must feel like hell. .and a lot of uncertainty. .but give it time.. and your body will heal slowly.  Some bounce back in a few weeks.. some like myself.. don’t feel completely recovered.. but each day gets better.. i assure you … but i just wished ppl wouldn’t keep asking.. why i’m not feeling 100% yet.  I wanna tell them to try the operation like the one i had.. and come tell me about it.   So donch let these ignorant ppl make you feel inadequate.. it is none of their business how long it takes.. you khow you will get there.. when you get there.  Of course we wanna feel 100% but i’ll settle for 80.

Pain Control

I happened to meet someone who had an operation himself a year ago like me.. in the same hospital.  We chatted for a bit.. and i had told the wife that I get pain sometimes too.  She looked quite the shocked… i guess her husband don’t have the same kind of pain no more.. and it’s prolly because we had different kinda operation.  But having said that.. it’s good to know.. that a lot of ppl donch take the pain killers as soon as they have the pain .. as recommended by my new Gynae.  Like me .. she too wait till she can’t take it.. before taking those pills.. and our reason..?? is not to be addicted to it.  Well, please know that you should take pain killers as soon as you get your pain.  Don’t wait..  but some said.. the  top 10 diet pills can help..??  Now isn’t that something now.. muhahahahhaha!!!

Don’t Even Go There With Me

i don’t understand why the ppl here would think that i am completely healed after 2 major operations barely a year over.  I had my operation in June 28 last year.. and another emergency one in July 2.  It had been 11 months at the most.. and everyone here feels that i should be hunky dory about it.. and can now walk the Great Wall of China.. and climb the Himalayas Mountain.  And if i said.. i was still in pain on days.. bad days.. they go like “oh well!”

But my friends from home.. they always tell me to be careful and not overwork .. because i’m not completely heal.  So what is the difference between the ppl here .. and my friends back home..?? *sigh* Well, i can’t say all .. expect the same thing.. but it’s irritating.. donch you think..?? to be asked this question over and over again.  Oh My God..!!! just leave me alone.. if you got nothing nice to say.. or suggest.

Wind, Wind & More Wind

Hate most about after my hysterectomy.. is the wind in my tummy.. and the paranoia after my laparoscopic that something is wrong.. if my tummy didn’t feel right at all or in anyway.  This was exactly how i felt.. my tummy had this weird feeling .. after i moved some office furniture and done some cleaning at home.  It is not painful.. but it feels like muscles were twitching and there was a lil’ pocket of wind.. that wouldn’t move or come out, no matter what i do.   The massage cushion is definitely heaven sent.. after using it last nite.. i felt better.. but this morning.. it’s there again.. *sigh*.  When will i get really well..??

Pain After Hysterectomy

10 months after my hysterectomy .. i am still having some pain.  Just the other day.. the pain was so bad.. i had to take painkiller.. and not one .. but 2 tablets.  I don’t know what to think.. coz’ some days.. i can be really good.. and then all of a sudden.. the pain is so bad.. i wanna scream.

I’m also having headaches of late.  I don’t know how to explain it.. coz’ after eating . .i’m fine.. but it comes back a few hours later.  I suspect is the sugar in the blood. .. but how can it be.. ??  since my sugar level should be high..??  no..??

Long Walks

10 months into my hysterectomy. .and the spotting scare in February, I am finally able to take long walks.  The babysitter didn’t come to work.. so i took Missy Moo for long walks.. because i needed to get her out to get some fresh air.  I am glad to report that I have never felt better .. for a long time.  When i had my fibroids.. i couldn’t really walk for long . .even shopping was a painful experience.  I can’t wait for the summer to come.. and me and Missy Moo going out for long walks. .and eating in the park.

9.5 Months After Hysterectomy

2 weeks after my check up with my new gynae, I have yet to hear back.. but according to Lynette.. who works in the hospital.. they are short handed.  I have yet to write to my ex-gynae .. Dr Mukherjee .. because we are looking into some franchises . 10 yrs into business, we are ready to move on.  Ok .. back to how i feel..??  well.. i still feel a little painful sometimes.. not always.. and of course.. having a brat  .. like Missy Moo who doesn’t wanna sleep at nite.. and wants your attention 24/7 .. well that cannot be the best for the body.  But having said that.. i feel great.. a bit of tinkling feeling on my tummy.. but still good.  I don’t have to take a lot of painkillers.. only once.. since i seen my new gynae.

9 Months After Hysterectomy

So yes.. 9 months into my full hysterectomy.. what’s going on..??  well.. i had a scare a month ago .. with very, very light spotting.  When to see my gynae a week ago.. still in some pains.. on some days.  But i noticed the pain is bad.. when Missy Moo.. doesn’t let me sleep well during the nite.  Good thing .. we own our own business.. else we would be in huge trouble.. from not getting into work on time.

I am still waiting for my pap smear results to come out and according to my family doctor … i had to start taking baby aspirin.. just because i’m diabetic. Lucky for those with jobs in finance because they wouldn’t be as stressed as we are .. owning a store .. and having to deal with awful ppl at times.

Update On Spotting After 8 Months Hysterectomy

It has been a week since i last wrote.. an update on me spotting after 8 months into recovery of my full hysterectomy.  You will be pleased to know that although i still get pain every other day..  it’s bearable… and no more spotting.  Thank God..!!!  I’m awaiting to see my gynae.. on next Tuesday.. i shall update more .. when i’m done seeing him…  but I will suggest for an ultra scan just because of the constant pain.

Update On My Pain 8 Months After Hysterectomy

Yesterday.. i still had some kinda pain.. but i had taken it really easy.. and didn’t stress myself at all.  I sat for abit.. stood for abit.. and tried not to bend over too much.  But today.. i woke up not feeling any pain at all.. but by evening.. i was beginning to feel some prickly pain.. since i sat more today.. to do work on the computer.  I also noticed that after carry half a basketful of groceries.. i was beginning to feel lousy on the tummy too.. so i changed to a cart instead.  I don’t know if they are pyschological .. or it is really true.. that i cannot carry heavy stuff no more… *sigh*.  10 yrs more is all i asked .. so that i can wait till Missy Moo grows up .. before leaving her side.  Having a mom .. but not that kinda attention .. or time.. for us.. it was very sad for me.  So i don’t want Missy Moo to  have a mom.. but one who cannot do nothing with her.

Pain 8 Months After Hysterectomy

Well.. i’ve been doing pretty good with the sporting ..  just not the pain department.  Yesterday i had pain on my left tummy.. and today .. on my right.  Today was worst than yesterday.. i had to take a pain killer in the evening.   It wasn’t pain, pain.. it was like uncomfy kinda pain.. so uncomfy .. i feel like throwing up.   Anyways, after the tylenol i took.. i felt better .. enough to enjoy my sambal scallops.. muahahhah!!  Will keep posting .. about my recovery.

Spotting 8 Months After Hysterectomy

An update .. on my spotting 8 months after my hysterectomy.  4 days ago, i had spotting for the first time.. after 8 months.. of my hysterectomy, it had stopped since.  Only a few drops in total.. but as of the next day, it stopped.  According to my ex-gynae, who moved to Ottawa now.. he doesn’t think i need to be alarm.  I am continuing to monitor.. and making sure.. i am not too stressed.  I still have pain today.. on my left abdomen .. but i only took 1 tablet of tylenol for pain so far today.  Will continue to update.. till i’ve seen the new gynae in another 17 days.

Update On Spotting 8 months After Hysterectomy

The spotting stopped for 2 days now.. but this evening i notice a very tiny spot of blood again – after bathing Missy Moo.   I called my gynae who has now moved to Ottawa .. and talked to him about the spotting.  He thinks it could be granulation tissues.. and if it was that, some silver nitrate administer in the new gynae’s office would do it.  He also suggested an ultra sound should my spotting continues before the 17 March.  I’m just so very glad that i managed to get ahold of him. .in Ottawa.. and it is definitely my personal lost .. that he has moved to another city.   The hospital in this town.. didn’t treat him well enough i guess..??  But i know my gynae is gonna do great things.. for others.. i have no doubt about it.  After speaking with my old gynae.. i’m not so afraid anymore..  nor stressed.  I was even able t look for some PVC fence and managed to shower .. before Mr Moo came home from work.

Pinching Pain

No spotting since yesterday morning.. so more than 24hrs.  I feel less stressed.. but still.. it doesn’t make sense.. why i spotted.  Don’t like it at all.  The gynae’s office confirmed my appt for the 17th March.. and told me to call..if the spotting got worst.

There were noticeable pinching pain on my right abdominal .. but yesterday was the left.  but the man said.. i had complained about this pinching pain before… so that is a relieve to know.  Everything seems worst than normal.. and it may only be in my head.  I will stay positive.. but my tummy does feel a little more sore than usual.  And here i thought i was on the road to recovery.. and started doing more housework.. and carrying Missy Moo.  *sigh*.  I’m gonna have to take it easier.. and haven’t bathed Missy Moo for the last 2 days… letting Mr Moo do it.

My only consolation right now. is that i’m not spotting anymore.. so that has gotta be a good sign eh.  I’ll continue to let all know about my condition.. in hope to help others.. who might be experiencing the same .. as I am.. find some comfort and answers.. that you are not alone.

Spotting 8 Months After Hysterectomy

I’ll be damn..!!  if i know why i am spotting.. which started yesterday.  Nothing outta the ordinary that i did..  nor was i having sex.  I’m not bleeding or anything.. just a few drops of blood.. on my panty liner.. but that’s enough to get me into a nervous wreck that I am right at this moment.

Called the new gynae up.. the old one has left for greener pasture.. and have an appointment the earliest in March.  *sigh* .. oh well..!! not like i’m bleeding yet.. or anything.. but i’ll keep everyone to date.. if anyone is interested.
