1.5 Months Diabetes Follow Up

It`s been a little more than 1.5 months since i started on full medication for not only my diabetes but also my cholesterol as well as high blood pressure.  I was a little overdue .. for my follow up .. due to a lot of things going on .. from wedding to families visiting … and work.

Anyhow, saw the family doctor.. and since we didn’t have anyone working at the store that day .. we had to rush in and out -  i didn’t even have the time to look at the new  Danze faucet they had just put into the doc’s office.  Everything seems to be going as he expected for my blood sugar.. and if it continues to do well, i wouldn’t need to be on insulin.  But the first time, he took my blood pressure, it was still high - so he had to wait another 10 mins.. and took it again, and it went back to normal.  That only shows that i get deeply affected by little stuff - so i have to be very careful .. and not stress myself.. and GO FOR MY WALKS..!!! POWER WALKS..!!!

Blood Pressure - Limit Salt Intake

Not that I like a lot of salt in my food but i was looking at getting some discount classroom furniture for my sponsored kids - this guy who was battling with high blood pressure all his life, told me that although we need salt, sometimes, we don’t know that we eat far too much of it.  This does helps the blood to increase its pressure to certain ppl.

Most of the salt we et does not come from salt shaker but rather processed food that often contain hidden sodium.  For example, a bowl of canned soup, six chicken nuggets with BBQ sauce or a ham sandwich each contain about 1000 mg of sodium, the equivalent of half a teaspoon of salt.  So if you consider how much of that you take daily, that can add up quicker than you think.  So that really woke me up .. and I am cutting back on my salt by not eating a lot of restaurant food from now on.

Diabetes Update

So it had been about a month since i started on full medication for my diabetes .. and also changed my diet.. and started walking a wee bit… although not very successful.  But changing my diet.. had actually made me look forward to a healthier me, afterall, I don’t want to have a  disability insurance so soon.  Plus who would insure me… if i am not healthy right.   I am darn proud to report that my blood sugar is slowly but surely going down.. and I’m darn happy about it.    But having said all the above, one knows that diabetes kills one slowly and  Allsup has a 98% success rate for those who complete the SSDI process with them.   Allsup is a leading nationwide provider of financial and healthcare related services to people with disabilities. Coversyl - Side Effect

So I started on Coversyl last Friday..  one tablet a day.. and they are really small but potent.  As soon as I ate them.. i instantly felt relief from my heavy shoulders and head.  In the evening .. i had a little nose bleed.. but that may  not be a side effect of Coversyl.. but having said that Mr Moo read some on the side effect and nose bleeds were common side effect.  So we kept an eye on it .. and didn’t panic.  The last few days.. has its ups and downs.. sometimes i would feel right good.. and others not so much.  But overall .. the feeling was much better than when i didn’t take the medication.  I still feel kinda daze on some moments.. and sometimes feel like puking.  I donch know if these are side effect .. but i will continue to monitor them closely while i look for some life insurance lead .
