Feeling Confident

Feeling confident needs some work – as we all know.  Not only has one gotta take care of our health which is 1000% most important but looking good and taking care of your personal hygiene is darn important too.  I started using  anti aging products when I turned 40 – even though my wrinkles haven’t appeared yet at that time but I know they will start creeping up really soon.   But like my mom used to say – prevention is better than cure.  And some 40 years ago – my mother was using the oil of Ulan – because there were no anti-aging products like they do now.  We are so lucky – that we have so many products that we can try and use – to repair our confidence to face the world.  Whether you are a stay at home mom or working mom – it’s important to take care of yourself and by ignoring those wrinkles doesn’t mean that it is not there.

Itchy Bumps Driving Me Nuts

The itchy bumps came back again!  but this time it’s on my palm and its driving me nuts last night and kept me up all night.  Before I had used boiling water to burn it dead!  and it did help but this time it’s on my palm – should i use boiling water too?  I hate seeing the doctor about it – for I fear she might say it’s because my blood sugar is high and thus causing the bumps and itch.  But a check with the pharmacist this morning – she thinks it’s some kinda a fungal infection – and recommended hydro-cortisone.  A search on the internet gave me more info on it – and looks like we are not the only ones suffering the same kind of itchy bumps – so I am quite relief – I’m going to see my family doctor now – hahhaha!!

An Expensive InSole

The side of my heels started hurting again – and this time – I was quick to get an insole and I thought again – I was taking care of myself.  But after spending a ridiculous amount for the insole – $44 + taxes – it still didn’t cure my heel – so I’m inclined to think that it is more than just a bad sole.  I am going to have to make an appointment to see my doctor – just to make sure it is not related to my diabetes – darn!

So I’m Finally Cured But ….

So my headaches stopped – my mouth stopped hurting and my canker sores are over – but I knew it was too good to be true – last night my tummy hurt again – on the sides !  from one side to another !  awesome much! hahaha!! but this morning I am feeling ok – I figured it was the black pepper beef i had for lunch – because that was the only new thing I ate.  When you get as old as I – you know you can’t just eat anything you want or liked.

ER Situation In Town

Grim is not the word for the ER situation in this town.  For as long as I can remember – one if unlucky can wait up to 10 hours to get to see the doctor – whether you have a disability insurance or not.  Missy Moo was covered with hives (we didn’t know at the time) they thought it was chicken pox and she was barely over a year old – and they made us sit there for 8 hrs – before she got to see a doctor – to be given Benadryl.  How frustrating is it for a new parent – who has to work the next day with no help?  very!  but just as frustrating for the ER doctors for now they are stating that there is just not enough ER doctors in this town.

But H E L L O !  this isn’t new at all – but what are they doing since it has been 10 yrs and it’s still going on.  Complaining and pushing the blame on the obvious is hardly the solution you think?  plus all are so highly educated – you would think they could do much better than lip service.  While it is good to be thorough with every patient – we hardly got more than 10 minutes at the ER – no wonder Mr Moo hates going to ER here.  I don’t know if the disability people get special treatment  but I honestly hope that they prioritize – give the old and the kids first priority and then the rest. But having said such – I was taken in immediately after my 10 days surgery – and was having trouble   – so whose fault is this shortage of doctors?  THE GOVERNMENT!

Torn Between No Sugar But Lots Of Calories

I love to eat nuts and fruits – but after becoming a diabetic – I have to watch what i eat – because both nuts and fruits contains more sugar than some cheesies.  How ironic right?  Yup! very !  but the cheesie has lots of calories as compared to the nuts and fruits of course – but what should I eat ?  nuts/fruits or cheesies?   *sigh* – there is a no win situation for me is there. I’m gonna have to check with my doctor about this situation – I’m always torn every time I need a snack.

Step Aerobics Made Easy

Yes! with phone books !  heheh! when I first read this at Diabetic living – it did put a smile on my face – but exercising shouldn’t be hard at home – nor do you need special equipment to keep that body moving.  I liked that idea – and thought I should share it with all of you.

So here is what you do – using one or two phone book depending on how thick or thin they are – wrapped some masking tape on the phone book if you are using two – so you don’t slip and fall.  Step up or down for 15 mins and then you can add in some knee lifts and front kick whenever you are comfortable.  Have fun!   See easy peasy exercise at home and exercises is very important for all diabetics – so go find some ambition now.

Less Pain With Needles For Diabetics

Don’t you hate taking your blood sugar?  I do ! in fact I avoid it if I can – not only because I worried of the result – I just hate getting prick – it’s not that painful – but when you have to do it a few times a day – your fingers kinda get really sore.  There are many suggestions on the net with regards to making it less painless – but no matter what I do – or what machine or lancet i used – it still is painful after a few times a day – so pray tell – how come someone can’t make a painless machine – making it easier for diabetics like me.   Have you had a machine – you swear by?  pray tell.

Canker Sore On The Gums

So my headache didn’t go – nor did the pain in my mouth after my dental visit more than a month ago.  I was pissed – and I called the dentist – because I didn’t know it was canker sore  but they did take me in today – and he pronounced that it was canker sore – and it would take at least a week or so – before it would go.  He also recommended a paste to use – instead of oral gel and to gurgle with salt water.   So hopefully – it will go away soon – I can’t be taking Advil for a month now – it suxs!

Strep Virus On Skin

So it is my birthday today and Missy Moo has some sort of rash – that we thought was hives – but it had gotten worst today.  So we went ahead and booked her to see her family doctor.  This doctor is new in town and from away – so she went on a panic mode and decided that it was chicken pox.  She referred Missy Moo to a local pediatrician – who in turned confirmed that it was some kind of strep virus on the skin.  It wasn’t contagious – and she was given antibiotics and away she was sent home.  Missy Moo is alert – and eating well – but very itchy everywhere that’s all.

Stopping Bad Breath

I’m very conscious when I start talking to someone and all of a sudden – they put their fingers subtlety on their noses – immediately, I become very self-conscious and take a step backwards.  Have you had someone do this to you before?  if so, you probably have bad breath and you shouldn’t be ashamed of it – because it probably isn’t your fault at all.

Bad breath is also called halitosis and it is more common than what you may think – a lot of people have bad breath but they are not aware of it – not because they don’t want to know – but because we are used to our own smell.  And people don’t usually tell you because it’s an awkward situation and place.  Finding the origin of your bad breath is the first step to stopping it.

I’m sure you suspect that bad odor from one’s mouth comes from bacteria that is build in your mouth over the years – I’m also one of those needs to take care of flossing and taking care of my tongue – scrapping the tongue can be a horrid thing to do – but it’s necessary it seems.  Food between the teeth and plaque can caused more problems than you think in the future. An oral brush is a tool one can buy for scrapping one’s tongue – a oral brush – orabrush – i think it is called is a great product to try.  I’m gonna get one and try it out and let you all know how it is eh.

Gift Baskets For All Occasion

2.5 yrs ago – I was in the hospital and a very good friend brought me a fruit basket but of course I can’t eat it – flowers would be more appropriate don’t you think?  so people!!  send flowers to a sick woman!!! in the hospital – don’t send fruit baskets ! now for Mother’s day or a birthday – that’s a different thing altogether eh.   Mother’s Day gift baskets online would be what we are getting for Mother’s day – but for a girlfriend or wife – get her flowers please – well some chocolate dipped strawberries would be nice too.

I used to send gift baskets to friends from away – I think it is a nice gesture – it doesn’t have to be for a special occasion and I know of some friends who would just send gift baskets just because to another blogging friend met online.  Everyone loves receiving gift baskets and if you can find a place that doesn’t cost and arm and a leg to send some – like we do – then it is definitely worth it.   So yes, remember flowers for hospitals but gift baskets are for all occasions.
