Snotty Health Care Secretary

Missy Moo’s caps from the dentist dropped a few days ago, while she was ill.  I had called up the dentist office to ask them for advice.. because the cap had stuff in it.. that was grossed looking.. and her teeth looked horrid.. almost rotten.  When we had caps in. .it certainly didn’t look this way.

When i asked the secretary.. she in returned told me a matter of factly . .that there were cavities.. when we had the caps put in.  Of course i knew that.. but her cavities.. didn’t look anything like that.. not a patch of brown.. she had teeth.. !!!! white ones..!!!  and when we tried to make an appt for Missy Moo.. and told the secretary that it had to be next week.. because Missy Moo is still hacking her lungs out.. she asked me.. ” so when will she be well..?? ” again in an indignant manner.

What kinda question was that..??  I should have answered her with .. “wait, let me get my crystal ball out!” but i wasn’t so sharp then… arrrghhh..!!! which i did buy memory for my PDA . .and had all these come back. .when i have to speak to these snotty secretaries.  Secretaries for health care services..  must have training in being compassionate .. else they shouldn’t be in that position at all.  Time to shoot the dentist a “nice snotty” letter about his secretary.. and change dentist…!

Health & Wellness With Organic Yogurt

We were at the grocery store the other day.. when Missy Moo pointed out .. the apple juice that her school gives her for break time… in the morning.  I had asked Missy Moo if that was the reason why she didn’t drink the apple juice at the school.. because it was the canned type .. and we give her organic apple juice.  She said yes..  and further explained that the apple juice from school tasted funny.

If you are thinking that we are the arty farty type of parents.. we are not.  We just want what is best for Missy Moo, so we usually make sure we get organic stuff for her.. wherever possible.  Now that I’ve found yogurt that can be bought organic too, i am gonna switch her to this instead.   Why organic.. you asked..??  Because they uses organic milk from Canadian farms along with organic fruit and cane sugar.

Each serving of yogurt boasts of prebiotic and probiotics to help replenish intestinal microflora.  So whether you are a new parent .. with no bearings on bringing up your newborn or toddler, trust me, this line of yogurt not only provides energy that your toddlers need but also helps their bodies to absorb fat soluble viatamins.

Flu Shots Every Year?

But my kid has already taken the shot last year -  that was what i heard a parent tell the doctor’s office the other day.  In which the doctor explained that the shots works only to last long enough to cover for that season.  And the protein coat on an influenza virus charges subtly from year to year.  And since protection depends on one’s immune system’s to quickly recognise and kill the virus, therefore a new shot is need every year.  Now we know eh.

Flu Shots

It is a common practice that the government advise parents to bring their kids for flu shots.. and even for the parents themselves.  I’ve never had a flu shot before.. and neither did Missy Moo, so every year we debate . .as to what is the best to do for Missy Moo.  But there are a lot of misconception about the flu shot.. and its side effect when one takes it.

Someone told me that taking a flu shot can give one flu .. so i went.. what..???  Well .. this was what i learned.  The vaccine contains only part of the virus and it’s not live, so there’s no way it can cause an infection.  Just so you know, an influenza vaccine only protects against three strains of the infection.. and not the hundreds of other viruses .. that can cause similar symptoms.   Having said that.. a small percentage of kids.. may develop a mild fever within 24 hrs.. and that is the sign to tell you that the vaccine is activated.

Get Rid Of Toxin In Your Body

Who doesn’t want to be healthy and stay healthy, right?  After my hysterectomy and the removal of the huge fibroid in my stomach I vowed to do everything possible in my power to keep fit and to continue a healthy lifestyle.  But having said that, you and I know that it is easier said than done.

You must know that we have toxins in our body and it builds up in our digestive system over time and is darn hard to get rid of.  If you ever feel sluggish, and no matter how much you sleep you feel listless during the day, whether at work or on vacation, then you had better do something about it because now you can use a colon cleanser to get rid of them. Dual Action Cleanse is a safe and effective colon cleanser.

Yes, I hear some of you protesting that you can use the good old fashion way of ridding your body of toxins; like eating vegetarian only.   But come on! In this day and age you need energy to go to work and do your usual chores.  A colon cleanser not only benefits your body by getting rid of those toxins, it also takes care of that bloaty feeling you have all the time, making you look radiant every day.

Hemogloblin Down Again?

I have been having these wicked headaches these days.  I usually get them .. when i am hungry.. but these days.. eating a light snack doesn’t seems to do it for me.. and i either end up eating more .. or taking a Tylenol.  And it only dawned on me today.. that my hemoglobin may be down again.  If you remember correctly, i had this trouble .. before i went for my fibroids/hysterectomy operation.  I think i better check with the family doctor about it.. if it keeps coming back .. else it must be because i need a holiday at Westgate.

Tummy Hurting After Hysterectomy

My tummy started hurting for the last few days.. in fact since Saturday.  Of course, i went on a red alert .. but I was also trying not to panic either.  Having said that i was really worried.. and was hoping it wouldn’t be something that needed for me to go into the hospital again.  I hate the hospital here with a passion and i don’t mean it in a bad way, just that i don’t want any health problems no more.

So anyhow, today .. i had a huge poop .. and my tummy seems to be a lot better… so i’m now wondering if that laposopic that I had 6 months ago did something to my tummy thus affecting it in such a way.. after my hysterectomy.  But i’ve also heard from someone who have had a hysterectomy about a year ago that she still feels pain.  So if you are feeling any pain, donch get too alarm..??  Unfortunately, the doctors here wouldn’t confirm nor deny anything.. so there is hardly anyone i can talk to .. nor confer with. *sigh*

Never Thought I Would Sleep Again After Hysterectomy

When I first came home from my operation to remove my fibroids and a full hysterectomy .. i never thought i would be able to sleep again.  Why..???  that’s because I was in so much pain.. that even lying down was painful.  I was fully loaded with painkiller albeit the fact that my doctors .. didn’t give me any special painkillers .. mine were over the counter ones.. so you can imagine.. how strong they were.

But the good news is.. there is lights at the end of the tunnel… 6 months after my operation.. i’m pleased to inform you .. that the pain isn’t so bad now.. and most nights.. i can sleep really good.  I’m sure.. another few more months.. i will be feeling much better.  So if you just had your operation.. donch despair.. if you can’t sleep…  you will soon.. so hang in there..  in the meantime.. i need to get my  car insurance quotes before i forget again.

Is IWK A Better Hospital..??

IWK is a hospital up in the city – Halifax.. and I had been there several times for immigration purposes and when i was pregnant with Missy Moo. The place was darn packed and crowded.. i’ll have to say.. but each time i was there.. the waiting time.. was a lot shorter than the hospital here in town.  Having said that.. when i had that emergency operation.. and was puking my guts out.. i was taking in right away.  But the hospital in the city .. seems a lot more organized from what i’ve seen or more doctors perhaps..??  Even their computer systems seems a lot more advance compared to the ones here.. whereby sometimes.. they can’t find my information.  Some Apple memory may work good for them.. since they are using the Mac systems for the whole hospital eh..??  But that’s only one part solve .. I still think they need more doctors.

Good Health For Year 2009

2008 was an eventful year health wise.  I’m glad i had my fibroids removed.. and am currently on diabetic pills .. which i had insisted that my family doctor prescribed… although both my gynae and the family doctor insisted that i can control it by eating right.

My hemogoblin is normal now.. and although i still feel tired at times.. i know i am safe .. and do not have to worry that i may collapse because of it.  I am not so much in pain now. .and can do a lot of things.. but bending over.. and sitting down too much or walking too much still hurts.

A look forward to better health next year.. and am grateful that i survived two operations.
