I Need A Shower..!!

Because of the infection on one of my wound.. i was told to sponge bath instead of showering.  But i’m beginning to smell like the toilet bowl..!!!  why doesn’t anyone invent something that i can put on my wound . .and waterproof it..??  Yes. i put plastic and plastic wraps but still .. it doesn’t work. .and water still soaks thru’ the cotton pads..!!  Arrgghhhh..!!!  but i need a shower.. so today.. i’m gonna shower.. irregardless.  On the same note..  Mr Moo managed to get a doctor’s appt for me.. tomorrow.. because the wound isn’t drying up yet.  Amazing eh..??  since we normally can’t get to see the doctor immediately.  Lottery time again.

Being Paranoid

It has been almost 3 weeks since i came home from my 2nd surgery .. and i’m still paranoid.. about getting more complications.  Everytime.. i feel nausea .. i feel like cold sweat all over my neck.  I know i have every reason to feel paranoid .. plus one of the wound hasn’t healed properly yet.  It is still oozing alittle.. and not healed like the other 2 wounds.  I’m still on anti-biotics .. and when i am done the anti-biotics.. it’s about time to see the family doctor.  We’ll wait and see i guess .. and not get overly upset yet.

The Health Dept On The Ball

I was really surprised to receive a letter or rather a survey form from MSI Canada, the health department in Canada. In the letter.. they had asked to verify.. if i had seen such and such a doctor during my operation.. and received treatment.. for such and such a thing.

Being so used to the Canadian way of doing things.. i never expected to see something like that.. from any department here. But since the government is paying so much for my medical.. all of a sudden.. i guess it is not really a surprised that my file became a red flag eh..??

You Wouldn’t Believed It!

You wouldn’t believed what happened..!!!  yesterday.. to be exact.. at about 5.30pm.. my family doctor’s office called to check on my infection..!!!  THIS NEVER HAPPENS..!!!  Yes..!! i was shocked.. and after talking to a few customers.. they were absolutely shocked too..!!!  I’ll have to buy lottery this weekend..!!

I was amused and shocked.. and still can’t get over it.  They had called .. to check on my infection .. before going off for the weekend.. !  Now you tell me.. what are the chances.. this was to happen..??  Well hopefully, this good after care .. will continue.. and not just a one-time thing.. for good health care is very important.. but i’m not gonna hold my breath eh..  this might just be a fluke thing. But no matter what i appreciate it.

If Only.. !

With 2 surgeries and being in a foreign country like I am.. i should have thought of a better health care program not only for myself.. but for my brat as well.  If I had bought some kinda health insurance, i wouldn’t have to worry about switching to a first class hospital room when i was hospitalized.  Like any insurance inclusive term life it is all about taking care of our loved ones and their health.  For the sake of my brat.. i’ll have to think of her health care insurance and her dental care as well.. because dental can cost alot of money in the future.

Infection .. JOY.. !!

I went to see my family doctor.. because one of the laporoscopic surgery wound wasn’t healing .. and was still oozing .. and i didn’t feel it was a good sign.  Finally, we got in to see him.. instead of Dr Murphy .. because Dr Murphy’s office was closed to August.

Well .. according to my family doctor.. i have an infection.  My heart dropped right into my stomach..!  i didn’t know what else will go wrong now.  The other two wounds healed perfectly.. but not this one.  Bummer..!! Anyways.. i am now currently on anti-biotics.. and lets hope.. it would heal.. and we’ll see..! *sigh*.. !! i just donch want anymore complications please..!!!

Up and About

After almost 2.5 weeks since i’ve been discharged from the hospital.. i am finally feeling better today.. to ride in the car.. and shop around abit. Shocked i was to learn that Sears is moving their showroom to a cataloged store down the road.  I guessed the competition is too great..? and not enough business to maintain such a huge showroom.  I think they are using some kind of moving services for when we were there this afternoon, things were being rapidly moved out.  It is sad.. to see businesses so huge move to a smaller location ..but one has gotta do what they have gotta do eh.

Blessed With A Good Babysitter

You cannot imagine how grateful we are to our babysitter.. Keegan.. for being there for us .. when i was so sick.. and had to be hospitalised .. twice in 2 weeks.  She really rise above the occasion for us.. and took over not only the babysitting.. but taking care of our business for us.. and zipping around in her car.  I’m glad she quickly took care of her car insurance before i went to for surgery.  Else she won’t be able to ferry the kid up and down from our house to the store.

Fibroids & Uterus

Yes.. as promised.. these are the pictures taken during my operation for my removal of fibroids and uterus. This was the size of the fibroids inside my uterus. A complete hysterectomy was performed because of the size of the fibroids.. they had to cut it like i was having a c-section.

The fibroids and uterus weighed about 3kg.. and 6″ wide. The size of a 26 weeks baby .. that was what my gynae .. Dr Mukherjee said.

I knew i had fibroids.. all my life.. but the fibroids grew after i had my baby .. some 4.5 yrs ago. But i didn’t wanna have it taken out earlier.. because my baby was still young.. and i don’t have enough help since I am alone in Canada.. and my family is in Singapore. My MIL came to help me .. but she has got her own garden to tend to .. and her home and family to take care of too. So no.. i couldn’t have done it earlier. I was in alot of pain.. for a long time. Just before my operation. .i was losing blood big time.. because of my fibroids.. and had to go for blood transfusion to get my hemoglobin up.

After My Laparoscopic

I had my laparascopic surgery on the 3rd of July late in the evening at 9pm which took me 3 hrs to be transferred into recovery room.. .you can imagined.. how worried the man was .. waiting for me to get out of surgery .. since this was supposedly to be a not so invasive surgery.

Anyhow.. today is the 20th July .. i’m finally beginning to feel a wee bit better.. and the numbness on my tummy seems better too. So yes.. for me it took 2 weeks.. to feel a wee bit better.. but i still haven’t recovered fully .. and should not have gone out for shopping .. and dining out .. all in one go.  Came home feel nausea, i think it might be the food i ate.

Nurses In The OR

On the 23rd June was the big day.  I went into the hospital at 6.30am.. and as soon as everything was done.. i was escorted to the OR.  I hugged the man goodbye.. and he assured me.. that everything was gonna to be fine.. and that he was gonna be there.. when i woke up.

As soon as i got into the OR .. the nurses there were SUPER DUPER nice..!! they talked to me.. and they held my hands.. and took me step by step with careful explanation of what they were gonna do.  These ladies .. were awesome..!!  I’ve never met such kind ladies in the hospital before..!  Unlike later .. when i was staying in the hospital.. it was a totally different experienced.  I cannot thank these wonderful nurses at the OR enough.. they made me feel safe.  Thank you..!

Dr Parkash

Well.. i had forgotten to tell you about Dr Parkash. I had to see him before my big operation .. because i had what they called border line diabetes. In case, of any complication, he was also called to be in the operation theater. I was lucky .. because i got to see him immediately .. and this elderly doctor was amusing.

He did some vitals checking.. and checked my eyes.. so closed.. to my face.. i felt abit awkward. But it was all over and done with .. within 30mins.. and i was outta his clinic. I didn’t see him on the day of surgery.. so i can’t say much about him. And seriously .. i donch really know what he specializes in .. except maybe.. in diabetes..?

Woohoo..!! I Pooped..!!

Yup..!! you wouldn’t believed how happy i am.. that i pooped..! after 2 days of no poop.. i finally did it yesterday. Relieve.. and thanking God..! donch wanna get into trouble.. again.. with the bowel obstruction.. else.. i won’t have the spirit to fight no more.. truth be told.

Looking Fit

Every woman i know from back home wants to look their fittest.  How can we not want to be this way.. when clothes are sold at size 5 .. the largest.  Of course, in Canada .. most women that I know are alot bigger size.. and of course clothings here are easy to get.  Some really need to take some generic Phentermine for truly .. i don’t know how these women can stand being so big and clumsy. I told the man many a times.. that if i ever turned out to be this way.. please make sure.. someone slap me around.. and wake me up.

In Preparation Of The Operation

After many blood transfusion . .and blood testing every other day to check my hemoglobin.. the day has finally arrived for me to have the operation.  23rd June 2008, i was in the hospital by 6.30am.  No solids from midnite.. the nite before.. and i registered.. and very quickly ..i was taken to OR.

As soon as i went in.. i kept telling the OR nurses to keep me alive.. and Dr Muhkajee to keep me alive too.  I didn’t get to see my family doctor .. i was put to sleep.  Next will be when i woke up in the ward on level 2 of Yarmouth Regional Hospital.  Stay tuned.

Exercising & Keeping Fit

I got all dressed up for the hospital today.. and i looked really good after my surgery.  With the fibroids gone.. and the weight lost .. because of the ordeal.. i cannot helped .. but wanna look this way.. even in the future.. when i get well.  I have to make sure that I exercise.. but having winter here for 6 months.. is no fun, so I have to look into other alternative like buying an elliptical machine.  I really don’t wanna put back my old weight.. and look like humpty again.
