Yeast Infection

Missy Moo had redness all over her genital area.. a few nites ago.. and that sent me on a panic mode. A check on the internet shows that yeast infections can occur in children, especially when they are sick and taking antibiotics.  But Missy Moo wasn’t taking anti-biotic but she did have UTI.  And plus she wears diapers at night, therefore this may have caused the yeast infections as yeast infections thrive from the damp environment.  The causes an yeast infection in a child and an adult is the same. The bacteria thrives in warm wet environments.  So the mouth and genital region are perfect areas for yeast infections to begin to grow. Take into consideration that antibiotics are the most common culprit for yeast infections in young children.

When Missy Moo was all red and had an infection in her Urinary Tract, I blamed myself and her daddy for not taking care of her better.   Therefore, from now on, I have to clean her up more often and on my own, instead of letting her do it herself.. afterall .. she is still a kid. Prevention is definitely better than cure.

In preventing or taking measures of addressing reoccurring yeast infections in children it is important to start with building up their immune system. The best and most natural method of accomplishing this is through diet. A child’s diet should be rich in natural foods and provide the necessary vitamins and minerals to ensure the child’s full development. Supplements may be indicated that provide anti-oxidants, minerals, vitamins, etc. It is also important not to introduce foods into your child’s digestive system that may contain the very elements you are trying to avoid. This element is fungus or mold. Therefore, a child’s diet should be free of peanuts or peanut butter as these products may contain mold. Guaranteed organic peanut butter or peanuts is permissible.
